Nitrate-Alkaline Pulp from Non-Wood Plants

نویسندگان

چکیده

Because there is a lack of wood resources in many countries, this work focused on pulp and paper production from the waste agricultural residues non-wood plants. The aimed to nitrate-alkaline black mustard (Brassica Nigra L.) camelina (Camelina Sativa L.). were selected due expanding planted areas these crops Czech Republic. To characterize chemical composition camelina, cellulose, lignin, ash, extractives determined. Raw alpha-cellulose, beta-cellulose, gamma-cellulose also measured. results showed that content lignin plants lower than softwoods. cooked was characterized by delignification degree–Kappa number. Additionally, handsheet papers made for samples pulp. tensile index, breaking length, smoothness compared with commonly available papers.

Exploring the effects of treatments with carbohydrases to obtain a high-cellulose content pulp from a non-wood alkaline pulp.

In this work, treatments with a xylanase (X) and carbohydrases mixture (Cx) were applied on a TCF bleached sisal pulp in order to obtain high-cellulose content fibers applicable on a wide range of uses. A limit of ≈12% w/w final content in hemicelluloses was found regardless of the enzymatic treatment assessed. An extraction with 4% and 9% w/v NaOH was performed for further hemicelluloses remov...

Enzymatic Bleaching of Wood Pulp

The dark colour of kraft pulp after the wood chips have been heated at high temperature with NaOH solution is caused by lignin (a complex phenolic polymer) still attached to the cellulose fibres. Traditionally this pulp is treated with chlorine to bleach the pulp to make it suitable for paper making. Unfortunately this leads to the formation of some potentially toxic chlorophenolic compounds of...

Some characteristics of nitrate reductase from higher plants.

With respect to cofactor requirements, NADH, and FMNH(2) were equally effective as electron donors for nitrate reductase obtained from leaves of maize, marrow, and spinach, when the cofactors were supplied in optimal concentrations. The concentration of FMNH(2) required to obtain half-maximal activity was from 40- to 100-fold higher than for NADH. For maximal activity with the corn enzyme, 0.8 ...

Properties of alkaline phosphatase of the human dental pulp.

Enzymatic and immunological properties of alkaline phosphatase [ALP; orthophosphoric monoester phosphohydrolase, alkaline optimum, EC 3.1.3.1.] in the human dental pulp were investigated. In inhibition and thermal inactivation studies, dental pulp ALP showed properties of universal-type ALP (kidney/bone/liver type). Dental pulp ALP cross-reacted with polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies against...

Simulating the Dynamics of Flexible Wood Pulp Fibres in Suspension

We investigate the dynamics of a flexible, elastic fibre, suspended in a fluid and subjected to a 3D shear flow. Simulations are performed using the “Immersed Boundary Method,” and are distinguished by their ability to capture the hydrodynamic interaction between the fluid and fibre, as well as the detailed structure of the individual fibres. Suspensions of flexible fibres are encountered in ma...
